The FEMEN girls are back breaking the traditional feminism. The members of the group affirm that an ordinary feminists' protest is for women that want to be equal to men. In their they want to be placed as women. Therefore, showing how sexy they are. Currently FEMEN has 300 members - 30 of them are topless "warriors" of the group. The average age is 22 years old, but there is also one 63 years old lady.
In the interview for a Brazilian news website G1, FEMEN group is sharing their secrets. Why actually protesting topless?
Isn't it on the contrary: to show the body, attracting million of eyes, humiliates the woman instead of appreciating her?
Inna Shevchenko, 20 year old leader of the movement and a journalism student says that before girls used to organize protests dressed uo normally, but it had no effect, so they decided to make it really extreem. "When a woman takes off her clothes, it's because something very serious happened and people want to know what is it," explains the leader.
Her mother cries every time she sees her daughter in the press, being arrested, as it happens quite often. "My mother grew up during the communism, for her even the ordinary protest is already a serious one, she would never understand women protesting and naked women protesting is something totally crazy for her" adds Inna.
According to the Ukrainian law it is prohibited to show genitals in public. "But it is not about genitals," argues a young activist. "Men may walk with no shirt on the street and women are sunbathing topless during the summer, so why cannot we protest this way?" - questions.

ReplyDeleteI do understand your mother completely. It is awfull to her. At the same time I do admire her,for she lets it happen because of she understands your purpose.
ReplyDeleteI do admire your courage and perseverance to protest in spite what other people would think.
The way you have chosen is probably the only way to approach people who understand what you want to be changed,the attitude towards women of Ukraine.
I do agree the attitude towards Ukrainian and Russian women of men generally,is respectless.
I think we should investigate the cause of this awful attitude.It is really complicated.
When we know all causes we know what must change now. And probably you know a lot of more causes.

ReplyDelete1. In the attitude and culture of Ukrainian (and more countries of course) women and men should be the "head","leader" of the family. In the new democratic world should both take dicisions,and work together to care for each other and the beloved children.
2. When you would investigate all internet-dating-sites from Russia and Ukraine,then you will notice there are alomost a million women who wants to leave your country for a better life with a men who will really respect and love her,with whole his heart and care. It seems all women are asking for the really good man,who will never let her down.
3. But,the half of the women at these dating-sites are showing photos of themselves with not much clothes on. I think this is wrong. On this way men are invited to look at sexy women instead of to look for a suitable woman to marry. These dating-sites are making men think Ukraine is a kind of bordell,whorehouse.
4. When a man from the western has subscribed to these sites he must pay for every letter he write and read. The men get really sometimes each day about 25 introduction-letters (mail. This makes the men think "The women are waiting for me". The really purpose of that only the men pays is that the men don't want to pay too much money. This will limit him to write with only one woman. But,when you talk with the women they do not say that they talk with more men,with the purpose to find the best man. ..There are men who are telling that it is proved that the dating-sites are paying the dating-women. I know one story of a man who was in love with a woman. He spend time for weeks with her,and she acted being in love with him too. But,other men told him that the woman was also in love with them. ...To resume,as men as women cannot know now "Who is abusing who". I do still don't know if every dating-site is correct.There is a lot to investigate. But,meanwhile the "system" is working succesfull and many men are visiting Ukraine. Do not forget,there are good men (honest intentions) and abuseing men.

ReplyDelete5. Romance-scammers. Especially from Russia,Nigeria and Ukraine. But,there are more countries. They say they are a woman,but,in fact sometimes it is a man or even a huge organisation. Each week I get two new mails from them. Each time they are approaching differently.They are very creative,I must confess. At present they are very smart. They use,as example,a name of a woman of Finland and add photos from a social network,from a woman. They are in love with you within three pre-written mails,letters. Always they need money for travel and visa. And they will never arrive. They are destroying the trust between the Eastern and Western countries of as women as men. Significant is that romance-scammers never answer all important questions from men. When I ask where they have found my e-mail address they always say "I saw you on a dating-site" or "I have bought your address". Most men are considering these mails as spam and delette. I have decided to talk with them to tell them know that I know what they are trying to do to me. ...Anyway,this kind of scammers is a huge worldwide problem. It destroys the trust and the value of women.
6. In Russia the difference of the poor and the rich is enormous.And the prices of many things in Ukraine are much too much. By example,the clothes and boots and hotels are much cheaper in the West. This is not unacceptable. This is making the poor will be abused more and more,longing for to leave your country. This fact is promoting abusing,scammers and coruption.I can understand,for everyone is longing for a better life. Though,it is just the very wrong way out. To resolve this problem there should be created a market-economy,that includes that every worker gets more salary from his boss. To create this there must be created "labor unions" with the rights to strike. On this way you will create a middle class.
